Tiago M. C. Simões earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Beira Interior (UBI) in 2019, supported by a doctoral grant funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT). Prior to that, he completed a Master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering at UBI in 2012 and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the same institution in 2010. During his undergraduate studies, he received a Research Integration Scholarship from FCT.
He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at UBI and a Researcher at Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT). Tiago has contributed to several peer-reviewed journals and conference publications across various research domains. His primary research interests include cloud computing, web applications and services, and microservices architectures. He has been involved in several funded research and development projects and has taught various undergraduate and graduate courses in his field. Beyond academia, he has accumulated significant industry experience, holding key roles in various companies, from junior to senior positions in multiple technical domains.
