João Neves received a B.Sc., M.Sc. in Computer Science from University of Beira Interior in 2011 and 2013, respectively. From 2014 to 2017, he was awarded with a Ph.D. research grant from the Portuguese national funding agency for science (FCT). He obtained the Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Beira Interior in 2018. In 2021, he joined the TOMIWORLD company as a Computer Vision Engineer in the context of the research project BIODI. Simultaneously, he joined the University of Beira Interior in 2018 as an Assistant Professor of the Computer Science Department. His research interests are mainly focused in the fields of Computer Vision and Machine Learning, including face recognition, biometrics and surveillance. He authored more than 30 papers, and received the 'best paper runner up' award in a CVPR workshop.
