In my PhD thesis entitled "A Numerical Study of Knock in Spark Ignition Piston Engines", new flame models were developed and implemented for combustion in spark ignition engines. These models were implemented on, (at the time!) state of the art multi-processing Transputers using the Occam parallel programming language. Since then I have been interested in all things parallel, distributed and multi-threaded, including application development and implementations on multicore, clusters, grids and clouds. I am currently interested in implementations and scheduling on (real time) operating systems and security issues such as confidentiality, authentication and the development and design of secure and reliable software and systems.
